Hi there! We are GM and Player. Welcome to our humble corner of the internet. In this post, we’ll be addressing what this blog is about, where we intend it to go, and what makes us unique.

What Are You Two About?

GM: Parties, sex, booze, and having a fun time. (Oh, that wasn’t the question? Well, shit.) No but seriously though, I’m all about sarcastic advice and sharing fun stories about my screw-ups and successes as a GM for your entertainment and learning experience.

Player: Informative storytelling. I’ll be outlining gaming systems, tropes, and published universes from the POV’s of the characters they inhabit. I want to be immersive. To deep-dive into characters oozing, gooey brain-matter.

Who Is Your Intended Audience?

GM: Fuckin’ noobs. People who are trying to figure out how to GM and are nervous about starting their own campaigns, games, etc. When I was starting out, I made a lot of classic GM mistakes but that’s all part of the learning experience. My goal is to make people feel better about their own screw-ups because hey, we’ve all been there.

Player: Newbies and curious Joe’s. If you’re Googling “what’s a role-playing game” or “what’s Numenera” or “are trolls evil” then you’ve come to the right site.

What Do You Value

GM: I value practicality. I’m not going to tell you how to plan your campaign in five hours (because trust me, an entire campaign takes me a hell of a lot longer to plan than five hours). I’m going to tell you about snacks, where to buy cheap books, and how to not only run a game but enjoy what your running.

Player: I value character. I think characters should be unique and tell their own stories. Even develop the characters that appear throughout the blog. I think that’s what’s missing from lots of informative articles, and it’s something I wish I saw more often.

Who Are You?

GM: Your worst nightmare.

Player: Batman.

Okay, But Who Are You Really?

GM: A gigantic fuckin’ nerd. Ever since I got into role playing games junior year of high school, I’ve been improving my interactive storytelling. When not GM’ing, I’m torturing my GM as a player. I also draw a fuckton of character art. The art on this website? All me. Except the stick figures.

Player: A broke college grad who likes reading role-playing manuals. I accept that this is not usual human behavior. I’ve also surrendered to sharing this fetish with the wide world. You’re welcome. Oh, and I draw stick figures. You’ll see.
